upgraded to a 240D engine. This would take my 6 grand all day long. I had a black with red 190d and it was slow as death. This has to be an improvement.

Worth 6 grand, yes, probably. However, for that price I could buy an I8 Packard.

The 240D was unbelievably slow too...

The 240D made only 67 ponies ... not sure how much quicker that transplant made the car.

trust me, 240 is still >190. Could catch 60 in about a minute with the 190. 240 in a w123 probably 14 seconds with a manual. These are much lighter too.

I think their slowness was a main contributor to how long they lasted. Youknew you couldn't race them, so you just sat back and enjoyed the ride. Nice and slow to your first half-million miles.

anything would help that 190. It would be nice if they nabbed the 190D W201 motor for it, but it has to be better

Which 240D? I think the road test 0-60 times were approaching 20 seconds, maybe more...

that was my seat of the pants estimate. My automatic Peugeot 504 diesel wagon is about 30 seconds!

I have a car now that's about 14 seconds 0-60 in contemporary road tests - an MG Midget. It would run circles around my 240D or the 504 Diesel 4 speed wagon I had...trust me :)
